Avec Octo Finissimo, Bulgari accomplit le 10ème record mondial en horlogerie à Watches and Wonders 2025

With Octo Finissimo, Bulgari achieves the 10th world record in watchmaking at Watches and Wonders 2025

At the prestigious Watches and Wonders 2025 trade fair, Bulgari pushed the boundaries of watchmaking for its very first participation in Selon, by presenting theOcto Finissimo Ultra Whirlwind, now recognized as the world's thinnest tourbillon watch. With a total thickness of only 1.85 mm, this exceptional piece embodies the technical and aesthetic excellence of the maison Italian.

A historic rivalry with Piaget

The quest for ultra-thinness in watchmaking has given rise to a legendary rivalry between Bulgari And Piaget, two iconic houses that are constantly pushing the boundaries of miniaturization. For decades, Piaget has established itself as a pioneer in this field, notably with its historic 9P movement in 1957 and its collection Altiplano, which has marked the industry with successive records. In 2024, Piaget hit the nail on the head with the Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon, a tourbillon watch with a total thickness of just 2 mm, setting a new standard for thinness. However, Bulgari responded brilliantly this year by unveiling the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, further reducing this thickness to 1.85 mm. Will they be able to surpass this record for thinness once again? We're eagerly awaiting their arrival in the years to come.

A world record for ultra-fineness

The Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon marks a new stage in the history of Bulgari, which has established itself over the years as a pioneer in the field of ultra-thin watches. This model integrates a tourbillon movement in an extremely reduced thickness, which demonstrates a true technical feat of integration and redefines the standards of contemporary fine watchmaking.

Its octagonal design, emblematic of the Octo Finissimo collection, is inspired by the Basilica of Maxentius in Rome, combining Italian creativity and Swiss craftsmanship. The watch uses innovative materials such as titanium, which guarantees lightness and durability.

Since its launch, the Octo Finissimo collection has set a total of eight world records for ultra-thinness:

  • 2014: Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Manual
Record for the world's thinnest manual tourbillon watch.

  • 2016: Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater

The BVF 900 caliber: the heart of innovation

This caliber beats at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations/hour) and offers a 42-hour power reserve. Each component has been designed to combine reliability and precision, making this watch a technical masterpiece, where every movement can be observed with the naked eye.
