Style
Victorian decorative art refers to the artistic style developed during the Victorian era. This period is characterized by an eclectic revival of historical styles and the introduction of intercultural influences from the Middle East and Asia into furniture, accessories, and interior decoration. Victorian design is often seen as having succumbed to an unfortunate excess of ornamentation. The Arts and Crafts movement, the aesthetic movement, the Anglo-Japanese style, and Art Nouveau all have their origins at the end of the Victorian era.

Additional information
Moss agate is a variety of chalcedony featuring natural green inclusions that evoke moss or ferns. In jewelry, it is prized for its pictorial patterns, reminiscent of landscapes, with each stone being naturally unique. This effect comes from mineral inclusions, not plant matter.
Birthstones
Diamond is the birthstone (or month stone) for the month of April.

Hallmarks
Barely visible but recognizable, you can see traces of the French control hallmark for 18-carat gold, representing an eagle's head (used in France since around 1838), in the eyes on the back of the buttons. You can also see part of the maker's mark (identification mark registered by a manufacturer or workshop). The word “DÉPOSÉ” is stamped on the piece connecting the buttons.
