This 14k gold fringe necklace encapsulates the essence of romantic jewelry from the Victorian era. The gorgeous surface of the gold is what is known as a bloom finish--a technique used in the Victorian era to dip gold jewelry into acid to burn off all other metals near the gold's surface. While this necklace is 14k gold, the outside layer is closer to 20k and gives off the warm buttery glow of a high karat gold.
The necklace measures 15”, and the drops range in size from 7/8” to 1/2”. The piece weighs 20.5 grams. It is in near perfect condition, with a barrel clasp at the top. Unmarked but acid tested as 14k gold.
