This Victorian pendant in 14-carat gold, shaped like a crescent moon, is beautifully adorned with seed pearls and decorated with a charming star that sits proudly at its center. The pearls are graduated in size, with the largest ones in the center. The pearls are set, and the outer row is housed in its own square setting. The star holds a larger pearl surrounded by five tiny pearls at each of its points. Once a simple pin, this piece has been transformed into a pendant by removing the stem and adding a 9-carat gold chain, as evidenced by the gold residue on the back of the moon.

The necklace measures 47 cm and has clasps at 44.5 cm and 41.9 cm for an optimal length. The moon pendant measures 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm. It weighs 5.2 grams. The seed pearls are appropriate for their age: two of the pearls at the end are set into their mount. The necklace has a lobster clasp. The chain is hallmarked 9 carat; the pendant is unmarked.
