This vintage Italian 14K gold necklace features delicate blue plique-à-jour stations, beautifully situated between fine curb link chain segments. "Plique-à-jour" translates from French as "braid letting the light through" and is a charming technique used in European jewelry throughout the 20th century. On this necklace, the blue enamel is suspended in 14K gold links, which are attached to small bails at each end. The effect creates a repetitive pattern of color and texture, particularly flattering on the neck.
