Garnet necklace and Roman coin Goddess Diana
18kt yellow gold and rhodolite garnet setting adorned with an ancient Roman coin serrated in silver. Pendant accompanied by an 18kt yellow gold chain (hallmark: eagle's head).
The coin, a "serratus" denarius, presents on the obverse the letters "SC" of "Senatus Consulto" (the Roman Senate) as well as the profile portrait of Diana, Goddess of hunting and nature carrying on her shoulder a bow and a quiver. On the back, a galloping Victory surmounts the inscription "Tiberius Claudius Tiberii Filius Appii Nepos" (Tiberius Claudius Son of Tiberius Grandson of Appius).
Vintage work for the chain and the setting, the piece dates from around 79 BC
