Rare stamp wheel in finely chiseled gilded metal, including 6 intaglios (see description below) and mother-of-pearl handle.
Intaglio details:
- Gray chalcedony; a pigeon holding a letter in its beak with the inscription above it "Reply quickly".
- Amethyst; a letter with the inscription on it “A letter softens the pains or absence”.
- Blue glass paste imitation of turquoise; a bird on a branch with the inscription around it "My love lasts after death".
- Amethyst; "Tho lost to sight to memory dear".
- Blood jasper; “Better late than never.”
- Citrine; "Forgive and forget"
Work from the beginning of the 19th Century, Charles X.
