Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date "Ovettone" ref. 6305/1 – 14k yellow gold – 1954.
Produced in 1954, this Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date reference 6305/1 belongs to the very first generation of Rolex Date models.
Nicknamed "Ovettone" (literally "big egg") by Italian collectors because of its characteristic domed case back, it embodies a particularly important period in Rolex history and already brings together several of the codes that would permanently define the manufacture.
This example stands out for its remarkable state of preservation, its elegant satin silver dial displaying a very সুন্দর natural patina, as well as its sought-after so-called "roulette" date wheel, whose numerals alternate between red and black.
Its 36 mm Oyster case in 14k yellow gold (585/000) retains very fine proportions, with well-defined lugs, a fluted bezel, an acrylic crystal with Cyclops magnifier, and its original screw-down Rolex crown.
The watch is powered by the famous Rolex A296 automatic caliber, certified as a chronometer.
Its movement has recently been checked, serviced, and adjusted by a specialist watchmaker and shows very good timekeeping results.
It is fitted with a brown crocodile leather strap and retains its original 18k yellow gold Rolex pin buckle. It is accompanied by its original Rolex box.
