The Datejust was launched in 1945 by Rolex, the first automatic watch with a date display. Reference 1603, produced in the 1970s, is an all-steel version with a fluted steel bezel.
What sets this example apart: its lavender dial. This purplish hue, rare on the 1603, is now actively sought after by collectors. Applied baton hour markers, baton hands, date at 3 o’clock with Cyclops magnifier. 36 mm steel case, fluted steel bezel, screw-down case back. Original Rolex steel Jubilee bracelet branded, engraved folding clasp “Patented & Registered, Swiss Made.”
This Rolex is equipped with the caliber 1570, automatic, 26 jewels, chronometer-certified.
