This classic piece features a 14k white gold case and luminous dials. It is powered by the reliable 986A 17 jewel movement, size 6/0, without second hand.
Fun fact: In 1927, Hamilton upgraded the movement to the size 6/0, 17-jewel 987 movement with a sub-seconds hand.
The movements have slightly different dimensions, so the cases of a Square 1926 are slightly different than those of a Square 1927 case (cut corner) - and each is intended for its specific movements.
The Square 1927 (corner cut) was also available with plain or engraved bezels; in the catalog of the same year, Hamilton also introduced the Barrel into the "geometric" model range. The Tonneau joined the geometric range in 1928. The Square continued to be produced until 1930.
Copies for women and men were produced.
The 986A movement caliber usually came without a second hand register.
