This squirrel pendant in platinum, set with diamonds, features approximately 85 single-cut diamonds ranging in size from 1 mm to 2 mm. At first glance, the pendant appears to have an abstract shape of leafy scrolls, but the outline of a detailed squirrel quickly emerges.
The squirrel displays remarkable line work, with a sculpted tail forming a lyrical curve and returning toward the hind legs, while negative space creates the shape of the body. The little squirrel appears to be eating, its mouth slightly open in the middle of a bite and its paw raised to its mouth. A red ruby cabochon adds a touch of color to the eye.
The line work is particularly meticulous, with defined lines in the platinum and elegant beadwork around the diamonds, creating the squirrel’s details. The pendant is attached to a 14-karat white gold chain.
