Secret compartment at the back allowing you to slip in dried flowers, a photo, or a lock of hair from a loved one. Original magnifying glass at the back.
French work from the 19th century, circa 1870. Sold in a purple velvet case, shaped to fit, branded from the jeweler Bassot, 17 rue de la Paix, Paris, successor of the maison Jacta between 1868 and 1886.
