Jewelry set important French set from the mid-19th century, during the Napoleon III period, circa 1850, comprising a large brooch and a matching pair of pendant earrings, crafted in 18-carat yellow gold with silvered tops.
The set is set with approximately 30 ct of very fine quality old mine-cut diamonds. Each earring is centered with a principal diamond of approximately 2.50 ct, with a very white appearance (estimated color F) and good clarity (SI1), complemented by articulated diamond drops that bring movement and light.
The brooch features an elaborate openwork composition of scrolling foliate motifs, with graduated clusters and pendant elements designed to maximize brilliance and relief. The precision of the stone selection and the complexity of the setting reflect workmanship characteristic of the finest French workshops of the period.
The substantial weight of the gold construction (approximately 165 g) and the uniform quality of the diamonds suggest an important commission, probably intended for a discerning patron within Second Empire society.
