Othmar Zschaler (1930 - 2023)
Othmar Zschaler, born in 1930, was a Swiss jewelry designer and goldsmith, known for his modern and refined creations.
He is recognized for his innovative use of gold, as well as his meticulous attention to detail and texture.
He began his career with a four-year apprenticeship under an experienced master who introduced him to the world of jewelry. He then settled in Bern, where he continued his studies for ten years while working independently. At the age of thirty, he founded his own workshop with a small showroom in Bern.
His work combines simple geometric shapes with finely textured surfaces, giving rise to timeless and sculptural jewelry.
His abstract creations are found in private collections and prestigious museums around the world, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and the Schmuckmuseum in Pforzheim.
