These incredible Oscar Heyman earrings are set with pavé diamonds totaling approximately 2 carats. The eight-pointed Stars in platinum feature irregular shapes, with longer and shorter points, an asymmetrical variation reminiscent of a burst of light. The diamonds are flawless, with an intense white brilliance, so bright they seem to radiate. The sophistication of the platinum and the pavé setting is balanced by the playful and organic shape of the Stars; the result evokes an elegant cartoon dynamite explosion.
Oscar Heyman & Bros. Jewelry is considered "the jeweler's jeweler," producing pieces for Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Tiffany & Co. The brothers apprenticed in their uncle's Fabergé workshop in Eastern Europe before immigrating to the United States in 1906. Oscar and Nathan opened their workshop in New York in 1912, quickly earning a reputation for their fine Russian craftsmanship as well as their technical skills in platinum, a metal that was just beginning to be used in jewelry. Today, the maison jewelry business is run by the third generation of the Heyman family.
