This 14K gold Edwardian ring Signet ring, with an intaglio, features an esoteric image: a unique family crest with mysterious imagery. Carved in bloodstone, a striped shield is set diagonally, with a scroll above it. The motif is topped with a crown, a pine tree, and a small animal (perhaps a horse, a coyote, or a deer), whose appearance seems to change with each magnified observation. The ambiguity of the image invites reflection. The bezel-set bloodstone is deep and beautiful, with "blood" red speckles on the dark green stone.
The ring is hallmarked 585 for 14K gold. Weight: 10.9 g. Intaglio dimensions: approximately 1/2” x 5/8”. The ring can also be used as a wax seal.
Ring size: 10.25. Can be resized and would suit both a man and a woman.
