A true testament to French watchmaking innovation of the 1960s, this Lip Electronic Soucoupe Submariner captivates with its futuristic design typical of the space age. Its imposing saucer-shaped case, combined with its blue 12-hour graduated bezel, gives it a unique presence on the wrist. Powered by the famous Lip R184 electromechanical caliber, it represents one of the boldest periods in Lip's history.
Produced around 1968, this reference 911770 belongs to the generation of 20 ATM water-resistant Lip Electronic watches, developed at a time when the Besançon manufacture was competing in innovation with the greatest Swiss houses. Its sunburst grey dial, applied hour markers, and decidedly seventies aesthetic make it a particularly sought-after piece today among enthusiasts of vintage French watches.
The case presents a very well-preserved overall condition. A few discreet signs of wear can be noted, as well as a slight mark on the bezel between the 3 and 5 markers. The dial is remarkably well preserved, as are the original hands and luminous hour markers.
