A French avant-garde jewel from the mid-20th century, this rare and highly sought-after vintage ring was created by jeweler Jean Vendôme (Jean Tuhdarian, 1930-2017). Vendôme is celebrated as the pioneer of modern sculptural jewelry. This piece offers a captivating variation on his usual bold, asymmetrical, gemstone-set compositions, with a clean-lined, understated architectural double-band structure.
Immediately recognizable to the eye of a discerning collector, this square-shaped geometric ring is crafted in solid 18-karat yellow gold. It is meticulously pavé-set with a remarkable combination of 24 brilliant-cut diamonds and 4 baguette-cut diamonds, totaling approximately 0.70 carat. The diamonds display an estimated D color, icy white, and VVS clarity.
Designed with a bold and sophisticated silhouette, this striking and versatile piece is perfectly suited as a unisex ring. It is intended to be worn as a prestigious pinky ring and bears the authentic signature hallmark "Jean Vendôme," as well as the French eagle head hallmark.
