Dating from the 1960s, the striking modernist design of these earrings combines influences from a jester's hat and the Jetsons. An elongated cone descends from an ear hook and meets a spiraled red carved glass bead. The gold features a beautiful Florentine finish, and the bead is topped with a repeating motif of gold beads and wires, creating whimsical earrings with a "space age" spirit.
The earrings measure 2 1/8” from top to bottom. The round red bead is 3/8” wide and is the widest part of the earring. Together, the earrings weigh 8.8g. They are marked "14K gold," "Italy," and bear a maker's mark: a B inside a circle.
