In a triangular-shaped medallion is a cameo made of hardstone depicting a helmeted warrior. The visor of the helmet is raised, revealing the face of a bearded man with a pronounced profile. The cameo is surrounded by a triangular frame in 18k gold. The openwork setting features roses and leaves, whose elegant details contrast with the black and white of the cameo.
The back of the medallion opens and the cameo can be removed, allowing a small photograph to be added to the back of the cameo if desired.
European piece, hallmarked 18k, with an unidentified maker's mark resembling a small compass. The original bail, adorned with a rose, is still intact.
