This is an early version of Elsa Peretti’s classic elongated-link charm bracelet. Although this iconic bracelet has been made by Tiffany & Co. for decades, this example is among the earliest iterations of the piece, made in Spain around the 1980s.
Its refined design consists of elongated links with rounded corners and an oversized rectangular charm reminiscent of a shovel. The sculptural modernist charm is ideally sized to be held with the thumb, its hollowed surface being approximately the size of a thumbprint, a tactile design element often present in Elsa Peretti’s work.
This particular charm has substantial weight, giving it a luxurious feel when worn. The narrow, elongated links create an elegant balance with the rounded corners of the charm. The bracelet closes with a beautiful safety clasp bearing the signature of Elsa Peretti.
The bracelet measures 7 inches long and the charm measures 1 inch x 3/4 inch. The piece weighs 16.5 g. Hallmarks on the clasp: Tiffany & Co., Elsa Peretti, 750, and Spain.
