Pregiato is a product of the famous Elgin National Watch Company, one of the most important American watch manufacturers attiva tra la metà dell'Ottocento et il salesimo secolo.
The model 11, identified as Grade 91, was produced for a period between 1890 and 1905. If it has a large format watch, such as “size 18”, with manual carving and 7 wheel mechanics, made with great cura, damascate finish and balance sheet in a hurry, tipico della scuola orologiera americana di fine Ottocento.

Joseph Fahys has one of the most important gold plated products in the negligee Stati Uniti collection, and the Montauk No. 1 market indicates a high-quality gold plate, very appreciated for its durability and elegance.
What's more, it's more robust than it is, it is distinguished by its artistic loveliness: it is decorated with a finely incised, bucolic scene, refreshing an immersing house in the bosco, surrounded by floral motifs and ornamental details that add a touch of romance and refinement to the piece. All the inside there is an incision with a massonic motive and the name of a Muratore brother.
The combination of an Elgin and a Fahys case was all the time a common one, but when the case was presented, the incision was very elaborate, even if it was realized in a pictorial series or persino personalizzate, increasing its historical value and aesthetic.
