Spectacular Chanel pendant in the shape of a Maltese Cross, crafted in 18-carat yellow gold (750/1000).
The cross features remarkable openwork and relief craftsmanship, composed of a multitude of small gold spheres arranged in geometric patterns. At the center, a substantial violet cabochon adds depth and contrast to the piece.
This composition evokes the Byzantine vocabulary dear to Gabrielle Chanel and the history of the Maltese Cross in the jewelry universe of Maison. The motif holds a special place in the history of Chanel, notably since the famous creations made with Fulco di Verdura in the 1930s.
The reverse bears the signature Chanel, the mark “OR 750,” as well as several hallmarks and the number “12 E 236.”
