Vintage Bvlgari Tronchetto ring in 18K two-tone gold. Meaning “little log” in Italian, “tronchetto” refers to the ball-shaped ring top of this sculptural design, which rises above the finger for a bold, geometric style.
The white gold of the band has oxidized, while the yellow gold at the center of the ring has taken on a rosy hue, making the two-tone variation very subtle. The yellow gold portion appears as a cabochon set into the ring, almost as if it were a gemstone; many Bvlgari Tronchetto models featured gemstones in this position, and this all-gold variation echoes that design. An example of the iconic architectural style associated with Bvlgari, with a clean, elegant, modernist design. The Tronchetto ring was first introduced in the 1980s and was a popular model throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
The ring top measures 5/8” x 3/8” and rises 1/4” above the finger. It weighs 9.3 g. The band measures 3/16” at its narrowest point. Marked inside 750 for 18K gold and Bvlgari. In excellent condition.
