Antique brooch yellow gold black enamel old cut diamond
18k gold (750°/°°) brooch with diamonds and black enamel. The brooch is formed around a finely chiseled hexagon set in its center with an elongated Old Mine Cut diamond (HI/P1) clean to the eye weighing approximately 0.6ct. This is surrounded by 6 identical polylobed parts each delicately decorated, enhanced with black enamel and set with an old cut diamond weighing approximately 0.1ct. A mechanism on the back allows the brooch to be worn as a pendant. Very beautifully crafted French work and in excellent condition circa 1870. Eagle's head hallmark for 18 carat gold and trace of maker's hallmark (master's mark in height with an F at the top, invisible lower part and F mark on the back of the brooch).
