Victorian French 18K gold drop earrings with coral beads. Two slightly flattened, graduated-size beads hang from a "Euro wire" stem. The lower bead measures 13 mm in diameter and the upper bead 10 mm. They are attached with a gold star that runs through to the other side, with a curved gold setting. With several points of articulation, these earrings offer lively movement.
The upper ring of the largest beads bears a French "eagle's head" hallmark for 18K gold, also dating the piece to around 1870.
The length of the earring, from the top of the "Euro wire" stem to the bottom, is 1 7/8. The total weight of the pair is 9.4 g. They are in excellent antique condition. The coral is a beautiful saturated salmon color.
