A very elegant Blancpain Villeret Triple Calendar Moon Phase ref. 6595, sold on December 21, 1990, accompanied by an exceptionally complete set and preserved in remarkable condition.
This piece perfectly embodies the spirit of Blancpain’s early Villeret collections, at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, a foundational period in the great revival of Swiss mechanical watchmaking.
It displays all the discreet and timeless elegance that made this emblematic line so successful.
The steel case is enhanced by a fine 18-carat yellow gold bezel, offering a particularly refined contrast.
The white dial, superbly well preserved, features applied Roman numeral hour markers, gold feuille hands, a triple calendar display with pointer date indication, as well as a very beautiful moon phase at 6 o’clock.
With its classic 34 mm proportions, this Villeret has a particularly elegant and balanced presence on the wrist, faithful to the codes of the great dress watches of the period.
The watch is powered by the Blancpain automatic caliber 95, renowned for its slimness and sophistication. It shows excellent timekeeping performance following a recent inspection and adjustment (+4.7 s/day).
