Dating from around 1890, this late Victorian ring is centered with a pearl surrounded by eight old mine brilliant-cut diamonds, together weighing approximately 2.00 ct. The yellow gold top, the rose gold band, and the partially legible 1890 engraving inside the shank give the jewel an intriguing history, possibly indicating a later marriage of elements. With its raised cluster motif and the soft contrast between the pearl and the diamonds, it remains a charming testament to late 19th-century sentiment.
