Dating from around 1650, this Renaissance-to-Baroque ring is a rare testament to early diamond jewelry. Its understated construction in warm yellow gold and silver holds six table-cut diamonds and one rose-cut diamond, whose subtle sparkle is enhanced by a historic foil setting. Probably of Belgian origin, this ring is valued here less for its ornamentation than for its antique stones, which allow it to be convincingly dated to the 17th century.
