Early Victorian era ring in 18 ct gold, adorned with three old mine cut diamonds set in square blue enamel details. The diamonds are housed in a square setting carved into the 18 ct gold, creating a contrast with the navy blue. The central square is larger, with an openwork pattern that raises it one level above the rest of the ring. The deep blue enamel forms a ribbon-like detail at each end of the design. The diamonds are grain-set, which enhances their brilliance and gives the visual illusion of a square shape.
The ring contains approximately 1/3 ct of natural old diamonds. The central diamond measures 3.5 mm and the two side diamonds 2.5 mm. All three diamonds are Old Mine Cut, plump in shape with large culets. The diamonds are bright and lively, H-I color and SI2 clarity.
The ring is hallmarked 18CT and bears the maker’s mark "G.TS".
