Exceptional 19th-century Ottoman ring, produced at the height of the Ottoman Empire’s fine goldsmithing tradition. The size and quality of the central stone alone place this ring in a category of its own.
At its center is a natural Ural cabochon emerald of approximately 12 carats, a stone of exceptional size and a deep, intense green, characteristic of the finest Russian materials from the Ural Mountains. A natural Ural emerald of this dimension is truly rare.
The 14 ct gold ring body is richly worked with architectural motifs, with mosques and minarets rendered in remarkable detail and set with rose-cut diamonds. The entire setting is enameled in a deep, rich green, chosen to echo the central stone.
