Superb Edwardian engagement ring in platinum, marquise-shaped, set with approximately 2.5 carats of old-cut diamonds (Old European Cut).
The diamonds are arranged to fill the marquise shape and create a very sparkling surface. On each side, two baguette-cut diamonds lead to a delicately engraved band; the engraving continues halfway around the band.
The central stone is a diamond with large facets, characteristic of the old cut. At the top and bottom of the marquise are two other old-cut diamonds. Quatre small diamonds fill the space between the three main stones, and the milgrain setting adds brilliance to the whole piece.
Viewed from the side, the ring features a scalloped gallery, reminiscent of a bridge, allowing light to pass through and letting you see the diamonds through the setting.
