Like a small floral arrangement, this ring rests on the hand. Delicate shades of coral, the fresh green of chrysoprase, and a few points of light provided by the diamonds create an unusual and harmonious play of colors.
Style and period: the raised floral composition, made up of coral and marquise-shaped chrysoprase cabochons, is typical of colorful cocktail rings from the 1960s and 1970s. Different colors and shapes are deliberately combined into a sculptural cluster, while small brilliant-cut diamonds serve only as luminous accents. This playful and three-dimensional mix of materials is very characteristic of that era.
Materials and stones: the ring is made of 585 white gold. Five coral cabochons measuring approximately 7 × 3.5 mm and four chrysoprase cabochons measuring approximately 7 × 3.1 mm form the petals. Between them are three brilliant-cut diamonds, each approximately 2 mm in diameter, for a total of about 0.09 ct.
Condition and restoration: before the sale, the piece is carefully inspected by experts and restored with care. The setting, shank, and stones are checked to ensure their stability. Preserved traces related to age and wear are not unnecessarily removed, in order to maintain the existing material and the character of the jewel.
