Important ring in platinum, made around 1955 in the Art Deco style, with a strong architectural presence. A natural emerald of approximately 2.58 ct forms the center, framed by two old brilliant-cut diamonds and 28 baguette-cut diamonds totaling approximately 2.35 ct. The vivid green of the emerald and the sharp geometry of the diamonds create a powerful contrast, while the old brilliant cuts bring subtle softness to the composition.
- Type of jewelry: ring
- Condition: good condition
- Country of origin: unknown
- Style: Art Deco style, made in the 1950s. This jewel shows a Art Deco stylistic influence, but was probably made in the 1950s. It should therefore be described as Art Deco style rather than as a true period Art Deco jewel. Many jewels from the 1950s continued to draw inspiration from Art Deco geometry while also showing a Retro or mid-century influence.
- Style specifics: Art Deco style, made in the 1950s. This jewel shows a Art Deco stylistic influence, but was probably made in the 1950s. It should therefore be described as Art Deco style rather than as a true period Art Deco jewel. The Art Deco period had ended only some twenty years earlier, so its forms remained a major source of inspiration. Some jewels from the 1950s can be difficult to distinguish from Art Deco at first glance, especially when made in platinum or with a geometric design.
