A statement ring built around an oval unheated Ceylon sapphire of impressive proportions. Measuring approximately 13.6 × 9.5 × 9.2 mm, the stone is accompanied by a preliminary GEM-Paris report certifying both its Sri Lankan origin and the absence of any heat treatment. The deep, saturated blue, characteristic of fine Ceylon sapphires, reveals itself with understated intensity at the center of the composition.
The sapphire is held in a four-prong 18 ct white gold setting, in a deliberately classic presentation: nothing competes with the stone, the architecture exists to support it. On each side, the shoulders of the ring are constructed in two distinct tiers: a row of calibrated-cut diamonds along the lower line, and brilliant-cut diamonds set above. The parallel use of two diamond cuts is a refined detail: the calibrated stones provide a controlled geometric foundation, while the round brilliants add lively, faceted light. Together, they frame the sapphire without overshadowing it.
Unheated Ceylon sapphires occupy the highest tier of the colored stone market. Most sapphires on the market today are heated to improve their color and clarity; an unheated stone of this size, with verified Sri Lankan origin, retains the natural attributes formed slowly within the earth and is increasingly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs of fine gems.
