Lovely vintage harem ring composed of four rings in 14KT yellow gold (hallmark: scallop shell) set with turquoise cabochons.
Probably oriental work from the first half of the 20th century.

Height of the central motif: 1.30 cm
Ring size : 51 (diameter 16.25/US 5.50)
Please note, the ring being wide, it is small, rather suitable for a Ring size 49.
Condition: very light micro scratches and oxidation on the gold parts, light scratches, oxidation, and natural inclusions on the stones, see photos.
The Harem ring, or Turkish ring, is said to have its origins in the Ottoman Empire, where the Sultan offered his favorites an additional ring each year for their loyalty. It was brought up to date in the 19th century with the Orientalism movement.
