The Lagoon tourmaline, like the Paraiba, belongs to the large colorful family of tourmalines. Tourmalines can be found in all the colors of the rainbow, but Lagoon tourmalines appear only in shades of blue and green, with a particular luminous intensity ranging from light tones to very saturated dark ones. They differ from Paraiba tourmaline because they do not contain copper, which gives them a different vibrancy. They seem to radiate a calm and gentle presence. Lagoon tourmalines can be found in northern Brazil, Mozambique, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Namibia. The discovery of large specimens of these highly sought-after stones is rare.
