Set in 14K gold, this Signet ring ring with a banded agate intaglio is hand-carved with a unique image: a shield topped with a knight’s helmet and a plume of feathers. The shield contains a six-pointed star and a crescent moon, creating a theatrical effect. The banded agate displays a milky pale lavender-white surface, revealing a pale peach hue in the carved areas.
The overall design forms a symmetrical and intriguing intaglio. The agate is set in a 14K gold mounting with a split and beveled shank, creating a clean and minimalist architectural structure that echoes the intaglio, resulting in a well-balanced ring.
The ring bears two unidentified hallmarks. One appears to be the profile of a man in a hexagon; the other is a diamond shape with a helmet between a "3" and the letter "K." The ring is identified as European, but the country of origin is uncertain (possibly Austrian, Hungarian, or Czech).
