The word from: This ring is a perfect example of the Art Deco period. The band and the setting are in 18-carat yellow gold. The head of the ring is in 18-carat white gold. This two-tone gold combination is typical of the Art Deco period, 1920-1930. The head of the ring has an elongated oval shape that follows the contour of the finger. It is crafted in an openwork manner, creating a "lace" metal pattern that lets light pass through the entire piece of jewelry. The white gold top is decorated with radiant geometric motifs. You can observe fine chiseling details, with structured lines reminiscent of the influence of modern architecture on the jewelry of the time. Finally, at the center of this decor, there is a claw-set diamond.
To go further: The Art Deco marked a break from the massive jewelry of the 19th century. By "hollowing out" the metal, jewelers created pieces that were visually imposing but very light and comfortable to wear.
