1950s Art Deco style ring, centered on an oval matrix turquoise whose vivid blue-green surface is crossed by natural dark veins. A delicate diamond border follows the outline of the stone, while additional diamonds are set on the raised edge of the basket and the shoulders, bringing lightness and sparkle to the platinum setting from every angle. The openwork gallery adds an elegant architectural quality, characteristic of mid-20th-century interpretations of Art Deco design.

As the Art Deco period had ended only about twenty years earlier, its forms remained an important source of inspiration. This can make some 1950s jewels difficult to distinguish from genuine Art Deco pieces, especially when executed in platinum or with a strongly geometric design. It is therefore appropriate to describe it as Art Deco style rather than as a jewel from the Art Deco period.
