1930s platinum brooch, composed in the disciplined yet ornamental vocabulary of the late Art Deco. Three sapphires — two cushion-shaped and one round — form the horizontal axis of the composition, their deep, saturated blue tones serving as the chromatic anchor for the entire piece.
Around and between the sapphires, the platinum setting is worked in interlaced geometric motifs — pierced and beaded, with millegrain edges and pavé surfaces typical of 1930s jewelry craftsmanship. Old-cut diamonds fill these geometric cells, their hand-cut facets reflecting a warm light in counterpoint to the cool luster of the platinum and the deep blue of the sapphires.
The horizontal silhouette and bilateral symmetry place the brooch firmly within the stylistic grammar of the period, when geometric rigor and refined detail defined the style. At 4.5 cm in length, the piece has a compact yet assertive presence — substantial enough to read clearly on a lapel or scarf, while remaining refined enough to stay elegant without being imposing.
