Antique Victorian (circa 1880s-1900s) "Man in the Moon" moonstone ring crafted in 14k yellow gold.
The carved moonstone measures 12.5mm, accented with smaller 2mm gemstones (sapphire and ruby).
Celestial-themed jewelry rose to prominence during the Victorian era, when the lunar theme was a major design theme. Beautifully carved, the moonstone face shimmers a distinctive, vivid blue with every movement of the ring. Rubies and sapphires border the moonstone, adding a special touch of color to the luminous center stone. This ring is one of the finest examples of Victorian carved moonstone jewelry we have encountered, and its condition is excellent considering its age.
We have not cleaned the ring in order to preserve the patina and collectible value.
