Rhinoceros and eagle head hallmarks: this piece features the rare conjunction of the eagle head hallmark (guarantee of 18k gold) and the rhinoceros. The latter was exclusively used between 1940 and 1943 to attest to the payment of an exceptional guarantee tax on precious metal items during the Occupation.
