This flamboyant Georgian necklace in 18-carat yellow gold, adorned with cannetille, wraps around your neck like a gentle summer whirlwind. Each of these 15 graduated rectangular citrines sparkles in its granulated setting, fused onto a glittering filigree crown, entirely composed of tendrils, scrolls, granules, and spirals. Although this delicate necklace appears as ethereal as lace, it is clear that it will never lose its splendor and will stand the test of time.

Technique: Filigree (formerly written filigrann or filigrane) is a type of delicate jewelry made with twisted threads, generally of gold and silver, or embroideries with the same curved motifs. It often evokes lace and French embroidery from 1660 to the end of the 19th century. It should not be confused with openwork jewelry; although both feature many open areas, filigree involves soldering wires together to form an object, while openwork involves piercing, drilling, or cutting holes in an existing piece of metal. Cannetille: This particular filigree technique, which consists of twisting or braiding a fine gold wire to obtain refined patterns, was popular in traditional Spanish and Portuguese jewelry. It enjoyed immense success in London and Paris in the 1830s.
