Here is a pair of antique earrings with a Medusa head hand carved in precious ivory full of details. Look closely at the amazing snakes that move realistically around the head. The face and mouth are very expressive. They are mounted on a tortoise shell and on top there is a tortoise shell pearl with gold piqué tips. The whole is mounted in 14 carat gold. These are beautiful little masterpieces of art. From Rome, late 19th century. 14 carat gold (touchstone tested). They are in perfect condition.
