IWC Schaffhausen
International Watch Co.
Founded in 1868
About this model:
Under his creative vision, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche founded a new company called Porsche Design in 1972. Much like his car designs (911), he preferred a clean Germanic design with a bit of distinctive flare.
In 1978, Porsche Design collaborated with IWC to create a uniquely designed watch incorporating a compass and a distress beacon mirror. The case and bracelet were made of a special hardened aluminum alloy with a PVD coating. This model featured a hinged case that allowed the top section to be opened by pressing buttons on the side of the lugs. Inside, a compass and a distress beacon mirror were found. Additionally, all magnetic components have been replaced with non-magnetic ones to avoid any interference with the compass accuracy.
The Compass IW3510 watch, with its olive dial and matching camouflage NATO strap, embodies a spirit of adventure and rugged sophistication. Its utilitarian design, inspired by aviation and military heritage, gives it a bold yet refined look. A watch built for exploration, yet refined enough to adapt to any environment.
