Superb and important pair of Poissardes earrings in solid 18-carat rose gold (750 thousandths) and in solid silver, stamped with left-facing open-beak rooster head hallmarks, used in France between 1798 and 1809. Regional work from Provence. Each is adorned with a line of five faceted pale green rhinestones, on foil, in closed silver settings. Break system with the earrings passing through the back of the ear.

Condition: Very good, with some tiny signs of wear on the stones. One setting is slightly deformed. The clasps work very well. Settings checked, earrings cleaned/polished.
This is a rare pair of antique earrings, with beautiful volume, timeless and luminous.
