Some time ago, we were offered a set of 18th-century pieces set with diamonds, rubies, and other colored precious stones. The owner explained to us that he had recovered them from an old, irreparable 18th-century clock. We immediately fell under the spell of these high-quality jewelry pieces and decided to acquire them.
During a fun creative session at the workshop, many designs passed before our workbenches as we imagined what we could do with our new toys while respecting their age and style. Finally, we decided to create the chosen model, resulting in these earrings.
Without going into technical details, we designed an 18-carat yellow gold setting with special hinges that can move without bothering the wearer. We managed to create this pair because we believe it would have the approval of the original maker of these quality pieces.

Style:
Rococo - Rococo (less often roccoco), also called “late Baroque,” is an 18th-century style that developed when Baroque artists abandoned symmetry to adopt an increasingly ornamental, flowery, and playful approach. Rococo pieces were designed as total works of art, with elegant and ornate furniture, small sculptures, decorative mirrors, and tapestries complementing the architecture, reliefs, and murals. It was largely supplanted by the neoclassical style. In 1835, the Dictionary of the French Academy specified that the word rococo “generally designates the type of ornament, style, and motif associated with the reign of Louis XV and the beginning of that of Louis XVI.” It therefore encompasses all types of art produced around the mid-18th century in France.
