Antique miniature ring, mid-19th century, French work.
Ring composed of a portrait on vellum, under glass in a closed setting in rose gold.
The miniature represents a young woman in portrait, dressed in a dress and a choker. The miniature is in a surround decorated with giardinetti, openwork in silver, set with rose-cut diamonds and ruby cabochons. The bottom of the portrait is enhanced with a bow in silver set with rose-cut diamonds and a ruby cabochon.
The ring band is made of simple 14-carat (585 thousandths) rose gold.
