This striking vintage ring, crafted in 18K red gold, is a beautiful blend of Retro and Fifties design, hailing from Belgium around 1950. Set with fourteen natural rose cut diamonds and seven vivid lab-produced rubies, the ring exemplifies the bold geometric forms and playful use of color typical of the era. Diamonds: Fourteen rose cut diamonds. We do not have the weight of the diamonds which is normal in our trade when it comes to rose cuts.
All diamonds, regardless of their size or shape, in our vintage and antique jewelry are verified as 100% natural by the IJGC laboratory. We do not sell lab-grown (synthetic) diamonds.
Precious stones: Seven rubies (lab produced) (also called verneuil ruby). The fact that these stones are lab produced has no influence on the value of this jewel. Natural rubies and lab produced rubies were both used in this era, rather more for their effect than for their intrinsic value.
Birthstones: Diamond is the birthstone (or month stone) for April and ruby for July.
Hallmarks: The outer shape of the master mark is in the shape of a barrel and was taken offically in use in Belgium since 1952 (but was already used before that date).
Free resizing (only for extreme resizing we have to charge).
Retro Style is a recent designation for the period in the forties when large scale, stylized geometric forms, drapes, bows or ribbons were all the rage. Pink Gold, set with colored stones, sometimes in floral forms was common.
